Tribunnews.com. As many as 14 Indonesian female soldiers received commendation from Lebanon’s First Lady, Waffaa Suleiman, in Tyre, South Lebanon, on Saturday for their role as peacekeepers in the country.
United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) spokesman, Suwandi said, “These female soldiers are part of the 1,314 Indonesian soldiers sent to Lebanon,”
The recognition has also been extended to female soldiers from other countries, including China, Italy, Nepal, India, France, Malaysia, Spain, South Korea, Ghana, Turkey and Cambodia.
The commendation was part of the International Women’s Day celebration. In addition to the female peacekeepers, the UNIFIL commander, Major general Paolo Serra from Italy, also received the decoration.
